How To Get Over Rejection

woman-with-ipodRejection. That’s a big word. What exactly does it mean to you?

Knowing how to get over rejection is an important skill. Especially for men like us. You will see why, in just a moment.

I remember the first time I was dumped by a girl. I was devastated!

You may be feeling down right now, and the worst thing is that you may actually feel physical pain.

I don’t know about you, but there used to be times that when a girl rejected me it could actually affect me for days.

But, just like you, I decided to learn how to get over it!

Here is how;

There is one thing that you have to keep in mind as a man. Rejection will ALWAYS be part of your life on a certain level. Whether it be women, work or business we have to accept that we will have to face it.

Ok, so now that we have that cleared up let’s move on and see how we can deal with it.

My favourite way is to actually embrace it. You see, going ahead with what you want knowing very well that you might not get it is what gives you the edge.

Whenever I’m approaching a woman, I do it with respect for myself and pride that I might be rejected. Whoah, how can you be proud of that?

Well, for many reasons. but mainly because I may still feel the fear of being rejected but I go for it anyway. Not that I’ve never chickened out just to be fair.

What’s important is that I paid due respect to myself as a man and attempted to get for myself what I truly wanted.

How do I get over rejection when it happens? I pat myself on the back and I congratulate myself for going through with another “battle”. As you may have read in my other articles, if I feel pain I transform it into strength.

There is one very important thing we have to remember. Sometimes rejection only happens in our minds. When you expect a certain outcome and something else happens you may think you have been rejected.

Here are two personal examples;

  1. ♥ I approached a girl at a train station. After I said “Hello” she grabbed her bag closer to herself. I thought she was being defensive so I said I wasn’t there to rob her. She replied “Oh, no! I thought you were going to sit down…” . I felt a bit silly. She was waiting for her boyfriend to arrive but we still had a really fun conversation.
  1. ♥ One time,  I was with a girl I had met a bit earlier. She was sitting on a wall and I gently pulled her towards me so I could kiss her. After she came down she took a step back and leaned against the wall as she stood on her toes. I immediately assumed she was trying to climb back up. I felt she rejected my kiss. Well, what actually happened is she was just trying to get her lips to the level of mine, I’m taller than her.  She wasn’t rejecting me, she just wanted to make it easier to kiss!

There were many times in my life that I would perceive rejection in similar situations and miss out.

However often rejection is real. She is just not interested. She has a boyfriend. Or the cat ate her phone.

Big deal. If you have extra time and energy you can try the latest pick-up technique or routine.

Or if you are like me just move on. You have nothing to prove.

But you always have other jobs, girls and businesses to look at. The more you learn to value yourself the easier it will become.

You see, I don’t believe that another person’s opinion of me is more important than my opinion of myself. I still get hurt by rejection but I get over it pretty quickly by taking action.

You can do it too. We live in an abundant world and there is so much more than meets the eye. Don’t get stuck. If you are a man it’s good you’re getting rejected. It shows you’re not just sitting on your ass -sooner or later you will reap the benefits.
